The Mountains are Calling

A few months ago, we had the opportunity to head west to Durango, Colorado for a wedding in the mountains! Being a family who loves road trips, we decided to drive the 11 hours to Durango, and tack on a day trip to Moab, Utah! Moab had been on our list of places to visit for a while, so we were pumped to get to pop over to Utah for a day and check out the incredible hiking and views that Moab has to offer!

We stayed in the cutest Airbnb tucked away right in the mountains of Durango! This one bedroom cabin was perfect for us and had a massive field right outside the door for Dot to run around in! We loved the cabin so much that we actually ended up asking our super sweet host if we could stay an extra night!

As a couple who would spend all of our time in the mountains if we could, we loved every second in Durango! We had so much fun exploring the town and most of all, hiking around the mountains right outside our door!

Moab, Utah is one of the coolest places we've ever been! One day in this awesome place isn't nearly enough time to see everything it has to offer, but we loved every second of our time there! Not planning ahead, we ended up in Moab on Earth Day..so the classic Arches National Park was absolutely packed and we had to skip it (we'll be back for you, Arches!!). Instead, we headed to Dead Horse Point State Park and are seriously so glad we got to go there! The views at Dead Horse Point were totally breathtaking and we spent a few hours hiking around there! Next, we popped over to the Corona Arch hiking trail! It was another super fun hike, but due to one super steep section of the hike, we weren't able to make it to the top since we had Dot with us. We still had a blast though, and could see the arch off in the distance!

All in all, this was a super fun road trip, and one that we would highly suggest! Durango and Moab are a few of our new favorite places to explore and we can't wait to visit them again soon!
